Just most of it. At least Trump signed in the two-for-one order he promised during his campaign, wherein any new regulation requires the removal of two existing bits of regulation. Sounds good in theory.

Of course, on the flip side such a promising bit of executive meddling is of course being abused because the regulations that are being stripped are the ones that keep companies from pumping shit into our rivers. Cool. This is how you get this:

At least there’s hope he’ll keep Obama’s LGBTQ anti-discriminatory act.

No Jake, that’s not good, that’s a completely arbitrary standard. That’s exactly how you get rivers that burn lol.

Well who knows maybe people will be more mindful in the face of locally polluted rivers and skies. No one really cares now because we outsource so much hazardous manufacturing, so we don’t have to stare at the effects in the face on a daily basis. NIMBY cuts both ways, perhaps.

Possibly, but that could be thinking a bit much of people.

Not with the potential empowerment of the “religious freedom” to discriminate against them, it won’t be.

Didn’t Ohio light a river on fire twice? People in today’s society don’t care about clean air amd water. They just want to be entertained.

I break stone everyday in middle of Siberia for decadent capitalists. Why I black market sell Stalin’s golf cart for two slices of bread. Now I sleep in frozen block of ice in shack while tiger eat comrades. Send regards to dear leader. Please water plants in apartment.

Lack of regulations on consumer products that produce pollution most definitely contributed to the problem, but by and large, the worst contributors were large quantity generators of hazardous waste. Your car/truck may chew through a dozen barrels of oil and pump hundreds of pounds of CO2 in the air each year, and combined with the other cars on the road in your community, that adds up. But not as much as the industrial plants in your region that are spewing tons of such pollutants into the air, water and ground.

They don’t care about it because they didn’t have to live in Love Canal. For many people, the water and air have always been clean (unless you live in Flint). People will start noticing the lack of regulation when there’s arsenic and lead in the water again, when rivers catch on fire again, when they have to stay inside to breathe, when their beef is riddled with e coli, when the medications make you sicker, etc.

Exactly. He can give lip service to keeping BHO’s policies in place, while discriminating against every LGBT person who doesn’t work for the federal government.

I live in the middle of the desert, am only thirty yo, and my brother, two kids I played baseball with in high school, and two of my friends have developed various cancers. Even with regulation, our air and water are poisoned.

So you want a new regulation huh? Time to spin the wheel of regulations to see which ones we’re going to delete! Choose wisely!

I wouldn’t even say it sounds good on its face. Agency regulations are a necessity as long as Congress exists.

Congress enacts a law that is necessarily vague (if they get too specific, it won’t pass) and then directs the agencies responsible for executing the law to promulgate regulations to carry out its intent.

When Congress is literally forcing executive agencies to create regulations on a near-constant basis, an executive order requiring them to give up two to get one makes no sense at all.

I doubt there are many people who don’t agree that there are lots of regulations that could stand to be removed, but this is probably the most ignorant and unhelpful way of doing it.
